Pengelley Boathouse is a beautiful architect designed, self catering lakeside cabin in Cornwall, located around 30 to 40 minutes from the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Set in a peaceful rural setting near St Ives and Hayle, it offers adult only, complete privacy, and a truly tranquil escape for couples needing time and space to breathe.

• The Boathouse enjoys a beautiful position overlooking the lake, with breath taking sunrise and sunset views. Surrounded by open countryside, the cabin feels wonderfully secluded, with generous outdoor space and a large private deck, part of which, sits directly over the water.

 

• Designed to bring the outside in, the Boathouse features large windows and French doors opening onto the veranda, filling the space with natural light and calming lake views. Inside, the open plan living area is styled in soft, neutral tones and includes a cosy sitting area, log burner, and fully equipped kitchen. A warm, comforting space to relax at your own pace.

• The peaceful bedroom is tucked away at the rear of the cabin, with a plush double bed and a private en-suite shower room. Underfloor heating (morning and evening) adds gentle warmth, and hot water on demand means you can return from coastal walks feeling cosy and cared for.

 

• Outside, you’ll find your own private sun deck with seating overlooking the lake, as well as a secluded garden area with a fire pit, table and chairs beside the water. One of the most special features is the outdoor bathtub on the deck, a beautiful place to soak in warm bubbles while taking in the stillness of the lake and the open sky.

• We understand that grief can be unpredictable and plans may change. We will always do our very best to be flexible and supportive. If you’re unable to attend your stay, please let us know at least two weeks before your check in date and we will happily rearrange for a later time, no questions asked.

• Your getaway can be taken whenever feels right for you. Whether that’s straight from leaving the hospital before returning home, after your baby’s funeral, or around your baby’s due date. We hope that this quiet lakeside retreat offers a moment of calm, comfort, and space to gently process everything you’re carrying.
